Working for decent development

News, 21 July 2010

Development projects financed by international financial institutions have big impacts on working people, and those impacts are not necessarily positive.

Public World is working with four global union federations -- BWI, ICEM, ITF and PSI -- which between them link more than 60 million workers. The aim is to help build the capacity of their affiliates to deal with World Bank projects that affect their members.

The work is supported by FNV Mondiaal and its focus is on infrastructure construction and renewal and service operation in the energy, transport and water sectors.
